Luis: Taryn, you have a face that could launch a thousand ships… I totally agree with TdashDub (You are his Youtube Crush http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wq-eHv7OiBo ). How did you feel being the topic of a now very famous video… Have you made a vlog about the video?
Taryn: Haha oh, thank you :). I was extremely flattered to be the topic of the "Youtube Crush" video. I knew that Travis of (TdashDub) was making a video of some sort but I had no idea that I was the main idea of it. So, when he posted the video and told me to watch it, I was completely surprised, I wasn't expecting it at all! I haven't made a Vlog about it yet although I should! We talk frequently so he knows how much I appreciated the video, Plus the song was catchy!
Luis: Will wait for your video response to his video… Boy, do you like making faces on your videos… I must admit it is cute though? Why do you do it? (Not that there’s anything wrong with it… I think you should do it more?)
Taryn: Hahaha Guilty as charged! I do make a lot of faces! Why? Couldn't really tell ya, I make a lot of faces and act goofy all the time, on or off the cam. Most the time I don't even realize that I'm doing it, It's just part of who I am, What can I say I'm a little ball of energy :)
Luis: Besides yourself? (You have my vote …..) Who do you think has the most beautiful face on you tube? (Boy and Girl) How about in Hollywood?
Taryn: Are you flirting with me Mr. Luis? haha, just teasing! Beautiful faces to me go hand in hand with great personalities, I don’t see anyone as beautiful unless they have a good head on their shoulders. I don't want to single any one out and say I think "so-and-so" has the prettiest face but I will say that I have met a lot of awesome people through the yt community that are really beautiful people. As far as hollywood/celebs go, well call me cliche, but Jesse Metcalfe has my attention for sure!
Luis: What and who is your ideal man? Ideal friend? Ideal fan?
Taryn: I couldn't sit here and honestly pin point who I think my ideal man would be. I'm still so young and have so much time in front of me. I strongly feel that some one you work really well with is someone you can learn from and they can learn from you. Some one who is caring and compassionate but knows themselves well enough to not let anyone change who they feel they are. It's like being in a ice cream store when your young, and there are so many different flavors, some you'll like, some you won’t, and then eventually you will find that one flavor that you like more than the others, you don't really know what it's going to taste like until you try it, but afterwards you’re really glad you did, If you catch the gist! (I'm not Oprah btw!)
My ideal friend is some one who knows me, what I'm about, knows my flaws, but sticks by me anyways. Just like I would do for them. Some one who can put up with me when I'm being silly, when I’m mad, when I’m sad,etc. Some one who I can confide in and knows that they can confide in me and I will try my 100% best to be there for them and help them get through it. One good friend is better than a million fake ones. Speaking of them, Kim (Diver13a13y06) is some one I could really thank for being there for me and displaying this description. Thank you Kim :)
My ideal fan? Wow! It still sounds so silly to me when people ask me about "fan" related questions. I don't feel like I have fans, I feel like I have friends. I try my best to answer every comment, every question, every message because I can't stress it enough that no matter where I get with my channel, it was my supporters and subscribers who got me there. They determine my fate with this site and they are the ones who should be thanked. So, thank you to you all as well.
Luis: Are you a fan of any Hollywood star?
Taryn: Hmm. There are a lot of celebrities that are the typical "pretty faces" but you never know if they are being genuine or not. There are a few out there that I do admire though. If I had to pick one I'd say Gwen Stefani. I just think she is herself and very genuine. She does what she feels and it works out for her. She isn't afraid to be herself and be spunky and fun. It motivates me to be myself and not be afraid to be proud of that.
Luis: Who are your favorite youtubers and why?
Taryn: This is such an easy question because I have made so many cool friends off of the youtube site. To name a few, Supricky06, TdashDub, Boomfire8263, xGobobeanx, Tokenblackchic, Yourtubenews and trust me there are plenty more! I'm sorry if I forgot you! These people along with being great video producers are also just really cool people to talk to and be friends with. Not to mention they have all helped me a lot to grow and learn about the youtube community and site. who else? My subscribers of course! They subscribed to me which means they saw something positive in me and my work. And I respect them and appreciate their support.
Luis: How do you describe your style of vlogging?
Taryn: My style of Vlogging, hmmm. I usually just turn my camera on, and blabber on about whatever the topic may be. I also don't worry to much about making it to perfect, usually shoot it once and edit that. Vlogs to me are like conversations, just telling people or friends about your day or about what's on your mind. When your real in expressing yourself and how you feel. Ya dig :)
Luis: What to you is youtube? Who do you think are your subscribers? Do you reply to your fans one by one… Wow, you have 4273 subscribers wow!
Taryn: Youtube is an amazing form of self expression. It's an art just like painting or music. Its a way to connect with people half way across the world from you. It's a great place to meet friends and awesome people. It's a site that teaches you alot about other people, and yourself. And, it's a place for people to come together and talk about whatever it is they may feel like or feel strongly about, it brings people together.
I think my subscribers are people just like me, just like you. I don't see myself above or below them in any way. I feel like everyone on this site has just as much potential as any other person. They are supporters and motivation for me to keep doing what I'm doing, its an awesome feeling!
Luis: Please define what a Pinky promise is?
Taryn: Haha, I just giggled. Pinky promise, the oldest promise in the book! If saying "I Promise" isn't enough, why not throw a few linked pinkies in there to make it more legit :)
Luis: I like your Youtube, Will You be my Valentine http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cHPxRzSbQoY video? How did that video come about?
Taryn: Valentines day is a day used to openly display affection for the people that you care about (even though you should do it every day!) I was in the holiday spirit and wanted to make a video that showed my subscribers how much I did appreciate them, so, out came that vid :)
Luis: Are you a Mario Kart…expert or a Mario Kart addict and why?
Taryn: It's funny because a lot of people send me messages saying, "ZOMG don't worry about your problem you can get help!" As much as I do lovee love love mario kart, that video was more of a silly, fun thing to do to make people laugh and connect with me. I'll still beat everyone in it though :D
Luis: I like your dating advice…(For the Boys http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YdUdSBChfeo ) you should do that more often? So pls tell my readers what are do’s and don’t in hooking up?
Taryn: haha I'm going to have to pass on this one just because everyone has their own ways in doing things and going by what they think is right. Plus, I'm not the dating Guru or anything. The "For the Boys" video was just something that had occured between my friend Kim and I, and I thought it silly enough to make a vid of it. I'm sure you all are just fine with the way you do what you do!
Luis: I know you are busy with the production and you are going to your Spring Break… Pls describe to us the songs you sang for the productions etc….roles you played and plans for Spring break etc….
Taryn: The production was a collaboration of all oldies songs. It's been around for over 35 years! It's alot of fun, you get to hang out with alot of people from your school and do things you enjoy doing like dancing/singing. Everyone did a little bit of everything so there was a pretty good mixture. Spring break! yes, I leave tomorow, I'll be going to Florida with some freinds and staying with my older brother who I only see about twice a year, pretty excited!
Luis: Wow Karaoke Queen, you are good… pls sing more songs for us…. What are you favorite songs that you sing… will you ever join American Idol… I think you should… Ask supRicky06 I bet he will agree?
Taryn: haha aww thank you. Maybe I will post more singing vids, only time will tell. Lol. I'm a big nerd so I sing just about everything from different time periods! My taste in music varies drastically. I have to say though that I love Oldies and sometimes even some country! Me joining American Idol? noo way. That's alot of talent right there and alot of dedication. I'm okay with singing in the shower haha. Supricky06? haha yeahh Chris has an amazing voice and talent. He will go far with it, how could he not!
Luis: Your crib looks cool…. I can just imagine you in MTV Crib’s … I like the earthy colors on your Karaoke Den….
Taryn: Lol Oh why thank you. Me on MTV Crib's haha yeah with my 11 escalades all specially made? haha. That's my basement where my mom has a big picture of "Remember the Titans" on the wall in dedication to her brother who was On the team but is no longer with us. <3. So the colors of the basement all are based pretty much around the colors in the picture.
Luis: Wow you are getting good at video editing my friend? What camera do you use and what editing software do you use…do you edit yourself?
Taryn: haha thank you again! I use a Sony Handycam, and beleive it or not I edit in Windows Movie Maker :) I have another program I'm just not to sure on how to use it yet. And yes, I edit myself. There is only one video I did not edit and that one was my Karaoke video edited by Boomfire8263. (Check him out!)
Luis: So you want your subscribers to be in your video? How does that work….
Taryn: Lol I don't want to get to much in detail yet since the video isn't out but, alot of people send messages saying they want to be in the video and intend to, but when the deadline for the footage comes around, only about 1/3 of those people if that have sent the footage. Then, I smush them all together in one big youtube ball :)
Luis: What advice do you have for new you tubers in reaching out to an their audience? How do you find more subscribers? Do you market yourself?
Taryn: To new youtubers, I say, speak out, be goofy, be fun, and try not to make your videos to long or complicated, short and simple are always good ways to keep your viewer's attention! I don't find more subscribers, as in going out in a search for them, I have never sent people messages or comments telling them to subscribe to me, I just don't feel like thats the right thing to do. People should subscribe to you if they like your work and who you are, not because you told them to :)
