Adding Bay Leaves to Your Food!

Herbs are well-known for being two things: ingredients and medicinal plants. The Bay Leaf Tree has leaves that are mainly used in cooking due to its unique taste and smell. The leaves are used for soups, stews, and some dishes in the Mediterranean area. Unlike chervil, fresh bay leaves do not have full flavor when fresh. They only have their full taste after drying. Dried bay leaves will smell herbal and a little floral, seemingly similar to thyme. Leaves from the bay leaf tree are also popular in French cuisine. The leaves are whole when added and are removed before the dish is served. When the leaves are crushed, they tend to bring out a strong aromatic scent. One claimed that her kitchen smelled very nice after brewing herself some bay leaf tea. Fresh leaves taste bitterer than dried leaves, and are less aromatic, too. But either way, fresh or dried, bay leaves are still good additions to your dishes. You’ll find numerous delicious recipes that will call for bay leaves as an ingredient, so try keeping a bundle of leaves stored in your home, just in case.

Living It Up

We all like to do different things with our spare time some people are into sport either energetically or leisurely, some people like to watch and others like to take part. When I was younger I use to really enjoy camping being under canvas and under the stars was just brilliant. The one thing I used to really miss about camping was being able to sit out under the stars with a fire going. I have thought about this a few times over the years but it was only when I realized that you could buy garden fire pits that I realized that I could recreate this feeling in my own garden. When I looked into it and realized that you could also a get fire pit table I felt like all my Christmases had come at once. My new fire pit table now takes pride of place on the patio and if anybody wants to find me they know where I am.
