Luis: I see you have performed especially Caroline's congratulations.... how did you start your career as a comic/
performer?

Rob:Thanks, How did I start.... Well I was always the funny guy in the group and I always did outrageous things in college
to get people to laugh. I was always interested in Stand Up Comedy. The first show I ever went to was when I was 8 or 9
(my parents snuck me in) Once I graduated at St.Johns University in Staten Island NY, I interned for Jim Breuer... he was
always a great inspiration. I started writing funny things and decided to go on stage and open mic. It just snowballed from
there.

Luis: How do you prepare for your stand up act? A lot of family anecdotes? How do you handle hecklers if at all?

Rob: I write at least 2 hours a day and try to do at least 2 sets a night. I just write down whatever I think is funny, it mostly
stems from my life.

The best way to handle a heckler is keep your cool, and listen to what they are saying. Then improvise from there.

The best thing for a newbie is to ignore it at first and keep the show moving.

Luis: Who are your heroes in the stand up world and why?

Rob: in no specific order...
Jim Breuer
Lenny Clark
Dennis Leary
Arj Barker
Dave Attell
Brian Regan
George W. Bush
Frank Caliendo
Lewis Black

the list seriously goes on and on.

Luis: Are you being mentored by those famous Caroline's comics?

Rob: How does one become mentored in stand up comedy? I talk to alot of comics that play Carolines. But not much
mentoring. Comedy is a journey through the "self." The best way to understand comedy is knowing who you are.

Luis: What do you think of the success of some comics crossing over to movies and tv? Why do you think they become
box office stars?

Rob: I think its great, its almost every comic's dream to rise to the top and get a sitcom or movie deal. They got there
through hard work, determination, and talent. Its also about having that tough skin, in the begining there is a lot of
rejection, you just gotta steamroll through it.

Luis: Any comments about the Michael Richards fiasco?

Rob: It would have been funnier if he said "cracka". It was like Andie Kaufman gone wrong. I feel bad for him, he just
blew up and went crazy. I feel sorry for the people in the audience, it wasn't a show... its was a klan meeting.

Luis: Do you have any words of wisdom to future comic wanna be's ?

Rob: Keep writing and performing. Everything else will just come to you.

Luis: Since, its almost Awards season….Here are my Oscar related questions…Are you game? What are you fave Oscar worthy movies, performances?  Which one do you see playing of these 2006 Oscar worthy performances....

Rob: Was Jackass 2 part of the Oscar worthy movies? Well it should have been.

Luis: LOL! Wow, Rob you are funny! LOL! Anyways, if you were to produce a film and you were the star....who would

you pick as director and co actors and why? What would be the story line? Why would people watch it?

Rob: I’d go the Zach Braff route and direct it myself. The co-stars would be Christina Ricci - adorable and crazy; Jessica Alba - well she is hot and of course my close friends.

It would be that “mid 20 something finding himself after college and then winning the lotto and seeing all the fun and trouble that he can get into.” Who wouldn't watch a good comedy.

Luis: I totally agree bro…How do you market yourself? How do you take advantage of the internet revolution tools such as myspace and youtube, etc....

Rob: Myspace and Youtube have taking advertising and marketing to a whole new level. Myspace puts you in touch with a lot of people and you can let all these people know about your next show. With Youtube I am reluctant to put up a whole stand up set... but I do take advantage of viral video and marketing on that website. I also have my own website, http://www.robdudley.com which is still partly under construction. The plan is to put up a store and sell stuff. Luis: I notice in your Youtube short film that you are into relationship topics? Why do you delve into those topics? What are you second favorite situations that you want to feature in your stand up act?

Rob:Yea, its part of writing what you know. And what I know is my last few girlfriends were out of their minds. I’m going to start featuring my childhood, my parents, more observation and more impressions.

Luis: In the current crop of sitcom's which one do you think should feature you as a guest star?

Rob: Fox's: The War At Home... but I think I could handle a drama. Throw me on Heroes haha!

Luis: Calling on the Heroes' Producers…. Rob Blazer in available for your 2007 Heroes episodes….Anyways, getting back to our Oscar theme…feel free to share with us your Oscar speech..... Here’s a hanky…..

Rob: Well this is shocking. First and foremost, Mom Dad... thanks for putting up with my shit I promise I will have the movie out soon. Steve, John, Vic - Without you guys the writing for this movie would have sucked. To the fans that stuck by THANKS. Thanks for enjoying my movie Waterworld 2: The return to Bareback River.

Rob Dudley 's BIO
Rob was born and raised in NY during the early 80’s... once he learned how to talk there was no stopping him.
He started repeating lines from movies and impersonating people. Comedy came natural to him.
After graduating college he got the chance to work for SNL alumni and stand up legend Jim Breuer.
Rob became Fudd the Intern on the well known Breuer Unleashed radio show on Sirius Radio.

With the help of Jim, and other working comics Rob started
writing material ranging from TV shows, Movies, and Stand up.

Robs first performance was at a seedy bar in the heart of NYC.

After that one night Rob was hooked. He realized that stand up comedy is his calling card.

Rob is currently an ad agent by day and a writer/ performer at night...
He did like any other comic, open mics, bringers, and barking for clubs for the stage time.

Rob is a regular at the Laugh Lounge, NY Comedy Club, Comedy Cellar, and Carolines.
