First Annual Fanclubx.com Film(making) Contest 2005 Awardees Named
 
The recently concluded First Annual Fanclubx.com Film(making) Contest 2005 held 
at the ImaginAsian Theater last December 6, 2005 ended the night of a packed screening 
with a festive Awards Night.  Luis Pedron, Festival Director and Publisher of Fanclubx.com 
announced that  "Judges noted that all Finalists' work  exceeded their expectations." 
Pedron added  that "the films really reflected the assigned topics of featuirng  Senior Citizen 
issues and Asian American actors. The contestants went all out int their productions inspite 
of the short 2 week deadline the films looked great! 
I am proud of all of them."

Fanclubx.com  and  ImaginAsian Theater in cooperation with Monarch Events Inc and UNICO present the First Annual Fanclubx.com Film(making) Contest to be held at the ImaginAsian Theater 239 E 59 ST (between 2nd & 3rd Ave) NYC this December 6, 2005, 7 – 930 PM.

 

Last November 15, 2005, 9 filmmakers (teams) were given the topic “Senior Citizen Issues” and the guideline to feature an Asian American actor in a leading role and  to create a 5 minute short to be submitted on November 29, 2005 for judging. Luis Pedron, Festival Director and Publisher of Fanclubx.com, feels that we should feature  Seniors and Asian Americans in our films to answer the issue of the lack of visibility of these particular sectors in our media.  “Seniors and Asians are integral parts of our new multicultural America. They need to seen and heard,” Pedron says.

On December 6, 2005. The pre judged short films will be screened in full splendor in the state of the art  ImaginAsian Theater. Awarding of winners will be the highlight of the night. Networking opportunities to meet filmmakers, actors,  film industry people and media will be the culminating activity.Luis Pedron is thankful to the generosity of  ImaginAsian Theater for co-hosting this event. Fanclubx.com Film Contest on Nov 15 ( Kick Off ) and Dec 6 ( Awards Night ) to be held at the ImaginAsian Theater 239 E 59 St NYC 10022 at 7 PM.

 

Fanclubx.com strives to give back to the community by giving out awards and recognition to individuals and organizations who thrive in the entertainment and community  sectors.

 

Last February 2005, Fanclubx.com honored 18  model citizens who have been successful in their respective fields. Some of which were Franky G (actor, Saw II, Manito), Domingo Hornilla Jr (Lincoln Cntr Film Society), Christina DeHaven (Producer, NYU Tisch Faculty) Potri Ranka Manis ( Kinding Sindaw) and Eddie McGee (First Big Brother Winner).

 

Last August 2005, Fanclubx.com gave the First Life Time Achievement Award to International Star A- List actor/director  Ricky Davao for his body of work and  support to indie filmmaking in the US and in the Philippines.

To end the year with a bang., Filmmaker, Publisher - Luis Pedron, would like to announce, the First Annual  Fanclubx.com Film Contest to be held on November 15, 2005 at 7PM - 930PM. That night, pre-selected contestants will be given a surprise topic and guidelines to create a 5 minute short film. Their sample reel (5 minutes DVD) will also be screened during the kick off night. One major rule is to feature an Asian American (and or Filipino) lead actor or actress  in the film in a non stereotypical role. The teams selected will submit their finished product in DVD format in two weeks (Nov 29). On December 6, 2005 at 7PM  - 9:30PM, all the films of the contestants will be screened at the ImaginAsian Theater to be judged by Film - TV industry jurors. Trophies, plaques and  in kind prizes and bragging rights await the winners. This end of the year event will be produced by  Fanclubx.com  (LFP International Production Inc) and    Monarch Events Inc. http://www.monarcheventsinc.com/    and  in cooperation with UNICO  Entertainment  and  ImaginAsian  Theater. The venue for the two nights on November 15 and December 6, 2005 will be at the ImaginAsian Theater 239 E 59 ST (between 2nd & 3rd Ave) NYC. Tickets are  $8  for each night. Refreshments will be served.
